TMI? Nah!5

I’ve been in the process of writing the “About” section on my website since….well the site launched..so coming up on 6 months. It’s been hard to come up with a paragraph to sum up what I do with photography. To categorize it, and then stick to it once it’s in writing. And if I’m being completely honest, I actually didn’t write the About section that’s up there now. My hubby did. It sounds smart, but it’s not really me. So time goes by, and I randomly remember I need to work on it. Try for a few hours, come up with nothing, tell myself I will come back to it tomorrow..and of course, end up forgetting about it again for a few weeks…..uh…I mean months.

One of those attempts to write something, I just came up with random facts about myself, and hopefully with enough details know exactly what needed to be said and what didn’t. Ya know, get out the useless information and keep the good stuff. It seemed easy enough and…it was easy enough. It got a little lengthy, and I never ended up getting out the useless information. It quickly became just a list of random facts about me, and more like a FWD: type email thing. But I saved it none the less, and even though I might not have changed the About me section yet, I’d thought I’d share it with you today. (and yes, that DOES mean I am trying once again to write today…but I did THIS instead)

*I’m 26, have been married for 8 years to a wonderful too-good-for- me husband, and have two way too cute children.

*At the time of writing this, I’ve owned my camera for a little over a year.

*Jesus Christ is my Savior. I have been in the ministry my whole life. My dad was a pastor, and my husband is also a pastor.

*I’m actually really shy. But usually it only takes one or two conversations and we’re great friends.

*My mom is the nicest sweetest person on earth. No seriously, she is! Check the whole world, I dare you.

*My favorite color is gray. I also like black and white.

*I was born in Chicago. And I will live there again someday.

*I was adopted when I was 2 weeks old. I have always known, and met my birth mother when I was 17. With that being said, I am so thankful for my parents. I couldn’t have lucked out more.

*My parents actually named my Ashley. I started spelling it ‘Ashleigh’ when I was 14. I finally got it legalized last year.

*I wanted to be a teacher when I was little. Also a singer and actress.

*I love candy. I used to have a secret stash when I was little. I still have a stash, I just don’t have to hide it anymore. I like fruity candy the best, and am not so much into chocolate.

*I have a favorite CD for about 3 weeks, and listen to only that. Then switch.  This week it’s John Mayer’s new album, “Battle Studies”.

*I’m very simple and like clean lines. I’m not a frilly person and rarely even wear makeup.

*I finished the last two years of high school in 2 months and graduated early.

*I love my brother, and he is one of the best guitar players ever.

*I love fruit. Especially in the summer.

*I would be nocturnal is they had night school for kids.

*Yes, I’ve read all the Twilight books.

*I hate my handwriting, it’s messy and sloppy. I used to try to teach myself different methods to change it, but it never quite worked out. I also would love to be left handed.

*I can’t wait to turn 30, so hopefully people will finally start viewing me as an adult and treating me more seriously.

* I bought a Gibson J180 JUST because of the star inlay. It’s so pretty, but I don’t play very often.

*I am so thankful for the United Worship Experience at my church. I learned most of what I know about my camera shooting their concert-like services.

* I have nightmares about flying on airplanes. Vivid nightmares.

*I’d love to go through boot camp. Just to see if I could make it. I know I could.

*I hate winter, to be cold, snow, and  ice. Spring cannot get here soon enough.

*I’ve never been out of the country. So desperately want to go to Europe. But the vivid nightmares keep me away.

*I am awesome at Wii Tennis. Challengers? Anyone? Anyone? Yeah, I didn’t think so.

*I’m double jointed. Sometimes, my toes pop out of socket…..on their own.

*I am addicted to coffee, Facebook, my phone, and sleep.

*I am scared of failure. I will quit something before the opportunity to fail comes into play. I’d rather quit myself than feel failure. Complete defense mechanism.

*I am also scared of centipedes and millipedes. EW!

*I croquet.

*I’ve never had a dog, always wanted one.

*I’ve never had a cavity. Surprising with my candy stash and all.

*B-12 vitamins are my happy pills :)

*I do not drink soda. But I do try to drink my daily requirement for water intake each day.

And that’s where I left it. So there’s a peek into whatever it is t they call my mind :) And because every post is better with a picture, here’s a few of my kids at the Christmas tree farm this year.

Thanks guys. I am glad you are enjoying it. I don’t know if people will be into personal posts. So thank you!!!

And no, I don’t usually go back to the CD. Maybe after a year I’ll go do the whole “reminisce about old memories of whatever was going on during the 3 weeks I was listening to that CD” I recently discovers Genius on itunes, and that makes great playlists..brings back alot of music I haven’t listened to in awhile :)

C&C….models..I think Colin would LOVE that attention..Chloe would rather be behind the camera :)

now I know why we get along so well, we are so alike even down to spelling our names different. when I was in 7th grade I was tired of people in Mercersburg not being able to say “Laurie” so I for 3 years, I spelled it like those lazy people said it… “Lori”, but changed it back because I really like “Laurie” and as I read down over your list, I could sit and talk with you for hours… I LOVE YOU and am proud to be your friend.
