One of my favorite things to do is to read other photog’s blogs. I love seeing what they do with their pictures, the poses, the locations, the coloring. It gets my creative juices flowing and I learn alot. I especially love it when photographers post helpful hints about how they do what they do. I love  “before and after” posts, and FAQ posts. By far, this is one of the most helpful things I do in my research.

I admire these photographers alot because they’re uber talented, and in reading their blogs, I hope to pick up on some tips/inside trade secrets of all their many years of experience. They get numerous inquiries about workflow, design, equipment, etc etc. Now, I don’t get any of that. But I thought I’d post a Before and After post anyway. Just in case anyone out there was interested in getting into my “editing mind”.

I use TRA, Totally Rad Actions. One of the best purchases I’ve EVER made! They make my job alot easier, and make me look like I know what I’m doing.  You can download a sample pack of them here.  Doug Boutwell, you are a genius!

Here is my recipe using Totally Rad Actions: (after using Lightroom for tweaked exposure and contrast)

Lights On: 100% masking out the sky

Warm It Up Kris: 100%

Big Blue: 100% masking out everything but the sky

Antique Tone: 100% X3

Lux: 50%

Oh Snap: 50%

Boutwell Magic Glasses: 50%

Red Channel Fix: 100%
